Dear Mom,
You have given me everything, from materialistic things to a heart that feels compassion and a brain that is intelligent. You have taught me to laugh when things might not be that great. You have taught me to look at both sides of any situation because you never know how another is seeing something until you really evaluate. You have taught me to give people the benefit of the doubt no matter how much they have hurt you. You have taught me to be strong when things might be crumbling but ask for help when needed. You have taught me to pursue my dreams no matter how scary they are and not worry about the risk because she will be there if I need anything. You have taught me how to explore no matter what place I am in. You have taught me how to travel and appreciate the beauty in all things. You have taught me to always always always continue learning no matter how young or old. You have taught me to love people as they are, not who you might see. You have taught me how to treat your friends like family and your family like friends. You have taught me the value of a dollar and what hard work looks like. You have been there when I needed you the most and have kept your distance when asked. You have been the bad guy at all the right times, I can say that now and the good guy all other days. You have taught me how to respect and care for others through action and prayer. You have taught me the value of the small things in life. You have taught me to never put knifes in the dishwasher, always pick up wet towels, how to hang Christmas lights, and the value of a hand-written thank you note. I say this with tears running down my face, I could never thank you enough for all you have done for me. You mean the world to me and I love you with all of my soul.
Your youngest,
Alison
